I’m sure you’ve read a novel that featured letters as part of the text but have you tried one that is written entirely in letters? Called epistolary novels, these titles are correspondence the whole way through. It makes for a unique reading experience.

Dear Committee Members by Julie Schumacher – This humorous book revolves around one dedicated, irate professor and his letter writing life. Letters of recommendation, letters of complaint, personal letters. It’s all here in this short, entertaining novel.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn- What would happen if the government slowly curtailed your use of the alphabet, one letter at a time? That subject is what this brief novel tackles through letters between its main characters.

Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole – This book begins during World War I and follows the love story between a poet on the Scottish Isle of Skye and an American volunteer ambulance driver for the French Army.
