Starting Tuesday, June 16, JMRL will partner with the Virginia Department of Health to serve as a reusable mask distribution center.

Patrons will be able to receive free masks during JMRL’s curbside services, Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am-2pm, at all branch locations.

“Wearing a cloth face covering is an important way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Rebecca Schmidt, Population Health Manager for the Thomas Jefferson Health District (TJHD).”

“TJHD is dedicated to making sure that everyone in the community has access to masks and we are excited to partner with JMRL to make masks available at local libraries,” she said.

David Plunkett, JMRL’s Library Director, said the partnership will help the Library’s efforts to keep their staff and the community safe during curbside services.

“TJHD has really gone above and beyond to provide access to personal protective gear and other resources in the fight against COVID-19 for the people of Central Virginia,” Plunkett said.

“JMRL is glad to be able to partner with the Health Department in this endeavor to help keep our communities healthy.”
