REGISTER TO VOTE
The last Day to Register to vote is Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
Register online  with a VA Driver’s License or ID.  Register by mail by filling out this form and returning it to

Mailed applications must be postmarked at least 22 days before the next election in which you plan to vote. A qualified active-duty uniformed services member, spouse or dependent is NOT subject to the mailing deadline if by reason of active duty, you are normally absent from the locality in which you reside.

ABSENTEE VOTE BY MAIL
As of July 1, 2020, voters no longer need a reason to apply for an absentee ballot. Ballots start going out on September 18. Hand-delivered mail-in ballots are accepted starting on  September 18. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is 5:00 p.m. on October 23, 2020. Call your local register for more information or to check for receipt of your ballot.
APPLY ONLINE
Voters with a Virginia DMV-issued ID may apply online for a mail-in ballot.
APPLY ON PAPER
Fill out the application and mail to your local election office. You should request your ballot as far in advance of the election as possible.

At the polls, acceptable forms of ID include
Virginia driver’s license
Voter confirmation documents you received after you registered to vote
United States passport
Employer-issued photo ID
ID card issued by the US, Virginia, or a local Virginia government
Student photo ID issued by a U.S. school of higher education or a public or private high school in Virginia
Virginia Voter Photo ID card
Current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or other government document with your name and address
