Following months of closure due to ongoing construction and COVID-19, the Nelson Memorial Library is ready to offer curbside services starting Tuesday, June 16.

Curbside services will be provided using the same schedule as the other JMRL branches, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Library Director David Plunkett said both staff and patrons are excited for this next step.

“While the renovated building is not quite ready for public use yet, the Nelson Memorial Library is thrilled that construction is at a point that curbside service for library materials will be available starting June 16th,” Plunkett said.

“Patrons have been patiently waiting to be able to get their books, and the Nelson Memorial Library can’t wait to be able to provide that service!”

Patrons are still able to place holds on JMRL’s website and the return due date for all library materials is back to normal (three weeks from checkout).

There may be delays in holds due to the 72-hour quarantining of materials and limited delivery.

If patrons no longer want their holds, they should cancel them by going online or calling their branch.

Patrons should continue to follow social distancing guidelines while participating in the curbside pickups, including no contact and no access to the library buildings.
