It could be waiting for you at the library!
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, a few JMRL branch libraries have put together “Blind Date With a Book” bookshelves for the most adventurous of readers. You can find them at the Central, Gordon Avenue, and Louisa County libraries. The displays will be available through the end of February.
Take a chance on love and choose your next book based on a few descriptive clues about the story. You get to unwrap the book and see what you chose once you’ve checked it out.
Alternatively, you can check out Northside Library’s “Pick Up Lines” display. Based on a similar idea as “Blind Date With a Book,” you get to choose a book from the “dating” pool based on its very first line.
For children, Central Library has put together a bookshelf called “Wrapped Up in Books.” Just like Northside Library’s display, kids are welcome to come pick out a book with a first line that piques their interest.
After you’ve chosen a book to curl up with, feel free to “rate your date!” Let us know what you thought. Stop by the branch or on social media, tag: #jmrlreads #blindbookdate .
The one you pick just might be your next favorite book.
