Car Buying Resources at JMRL

The new model year cars have recently arrived in showrooms and you might be thinking of trading up. If so, remember the many great resources the library can offer you to find information about your purchase.

consumer reports.jpgConsumer Reports – The current year and previous year of the magazine are available at all branches. Check the April issue for information on new cars.

Consumer Reports Used Car Buying Guide – The most recent edition has rating information for model years 2014 and older. A circulating edition from 2007 is also available.

NADA Guides –  Check the reference section at any branch for these helpful yellow books. They include car pricing information from vehicles in the past 20 years.

Fuel Economy Guides – This publication of the US Department of Energy helps explain the fuel economy information of new vehicles. Available at the Central branch, or online. Their site also has a section on historical fuel economy information and a compare feature for multiple vehicles.

Books – We have multiple titles about buying new or used vehicles. Place a hold and pick these up at any branch location.
